Proven products, live from day one
Nine mature products covering lending, collections, capital markets, insurance broking, membership administration and customer engagement — each refined over years of real production use, not a demo build.
We are a custom software development company in Gaborone, Botswana. We build functional business applications that solve genuinely complex problems in a simple, efficient way — assembled rapidly from modules already running in production, then configured to fit your business exactly.
No upfront cost. You pay nothing until your system is in production.
Trusted with mission-critical systems by banks, lenders, brokerages and financial intermediaries across five SADC markets
Enterprise software normally begins with a large licence fee, paid long before anything runs. We inverted that. There is no upfront cost, no capital outlay and no licence purchase — only a monthly subscription that starts once the system is delivering value.
No licence fee, no implementation deposit, no capital expenditure to approve. The commercial risk of delivery sits with us, not with you.
Your subscription begins when the system enters production — or two months after user acceptance testing starts, whichever comes first. We are paid for a working system, so we are motivated to deliver one quickly.
Affordable, predictable operating expenditure. We never take a percentage of the revenue our systems help you generate — your upside stays entirely yours.
Priced separately and quoted transparently up front: server hardware and managed hosting services, data take-on, third-party API configuration, training programmes, optional source code escrow, and any complementary systems or additional modules you select.
Most organisations face the same dilemma: buy a rigid off-the-shelf package that forces you to change how you work, or commission a custom build that takes years and drains your budget. We removed the choice — our modular library lets us assemble a system that fits you exactly, in a fraction of the time a ground-up build would take.
Nine mature products covering lending, collections, capital markets, insurance broking, membership administration and customer engagement — each refined over years of real production use, not a demo build.
Workflow engines, accounting, document management, KYC, notifications, reporting and integration layers already exist and are already hardened. We compose and configure them around your process — so you get a bespoke system on a package timeline.
Delivery is the beginning, not the end. A dedicated support resource, a named business relationship manager, continuous training and rapid turnaround on regulatory changes keep the system current as your market moves.
FinDev was founded in Gaborone in 2005 and has spent more than twenty years building software for the most demanding corner of the market: banking, insurance and capital markets, where a defect is a regulatory event and downtime is a headline.
Our leadership team brings a combined sixty years in financial services. That matters because the hard part of business software is rarely the code — it is understanding the process, the regulation, the edge cases and the commercial reality well enough to model them correctly the first time.
We apply that same discipline outside financial services too, delivering systems for agriculture, education, FMCG and retail, health, and tourism and event management.
Client names withheld pending consent. Reference sites and named case studies are available under NDA on request.
Every system we deliver is built on the same enterprise foundation, designed from the outset for African markets and their regulatory compliance requirements. Most of what follows is simply part of the platform. A small number of the more specialised capabilities are licensed as separate modules — and we tell you which ones, in writing, before you commit to anything.
We operate an open API policy. Our systems are designed to exchange data with whatever you already run — without disruption, without forcing a replacement, and without compatibility surprises discovered late in the project.
Where a third party publishes an integration channel, we consume it. Where one does not exist, we build the interface. Bulk file exchange, scheduled batch, real-time API, message queue or direct database interface — we have delivered all of them into live banking environments.
The practical effect is that a new FinDev system slots into your existing landscape rather than becoming another island of data your teams have to reconcile by hand.
We integrate with AI models to achieve efficiencies in business processes that were simply not possible a few years ago. We are deliberate about where we apply it: in the high-volume, judgement-light, error-prone work that consumes your team's day. Every application below is either running in production or in active development within our platform.
Intelligent character recognition reads uploaded documents, extracts the data and populates the system automatically. Capture time collapses and transcription errors largely disappear.
AI-supported verification checks uploaded documents for validity, completeness and consistency against the application, so your reviewer starts from a checked file rather than a blank one.
Applications are scored and prequalified automatically, with an integrated override for exceptional cases — flexibility without losing workflow efficiency or the audit trail.
Ask a question of your data in plain language and get an answer, instead of raising a ticket and waiting for someone to write a report.
Collections effort is segmented and directed where it counts, with automated work-load balancing across agents and focus placed on high-risk customers.
Automated tracking of document expiry, business rules and regulatory obligations, so compliance gaps surface before an auditor finds them.
We do not sell technology for its own sake. Every engagement is measured against four outcomes that a finance director recognises immediately.
Automation removes manual handling and rework. Operating costs fall as headcount shifts from administration to work that generates income, and there is no capital outlay to amortise.
Faster turnaround means higher throughput on the same team. Better data means better decisions and improved collections. Remote and agent portals open channels you could not previously service.
Regulatory rules are enforced by the system rather than by memory. Documents, approvals and KYC records are complete and current because the workflow will not proceed without them.
Complete audit trails, immutable transaction histories and instant document retrieval turn an audit from a fortnight of file-hunting into a set of queries answered on screen.
Because we start from proven modules rather than a blank page, delivery is measured in weeks. This is our standard implementation shape — phases frequently run concurrently, and simpler systems land considerably sooner.
Signature, then a structured requirements-gathering exercise with your business owners.
Configuration and development of the modules against your agreed process and rules.
User acceptance testing and deployment. Your billing clock starts here at the latest.
User training and integration of complementary systems and third-party interfaces.
Future enhancements and additional products, delivered continuously thereafter.
Our support centre is staffed by people who built the software, based in Gaborone and reachable in your time zone. For clients who require it, we provide dedicated resources to ensure genuine 24×7 availability — not a queue that answers in the morning.
Gaborone-based development and support. Same time zone, same regulatory context, and people you can meet in person.
In-person and virtual programmes for departments, direct sales agents and trainers, with materials that stay current.
Formal software escrow, documented configurations and replication servers configured and monitored by us.
Cloud-native or on-premise. Host with us, or run it entirely inside your own data centre under your own controls.
Our specialism is banking, insurance and capital markets. The engineering underneath is sector-agnostic, and we deliver business systems across a much wider range of industries.
If you want to work on software that thousands of people depend on every day — systems that move money, decide credit and keep regulated businesses compliant across five countries — we would like to hear from you.
We are a small, senior team in Gaborone. That means real ownership of real problems from your first month, direct access to the people who make the decisions, and the chance to see something you built go live and matter.
Do not wait for an advertised vacancy. If you are good, tell us what you can do and attach your CV — we read every one.
You pay nothing to start. No licence fee, no deposit, no implementation charge. Your monthly subscription begins on the earlier of two events: the system going into production, or two months after user acceptance testing starts. The second condition simply prevents an indefinite free period — in practice, most implementations reach production well before it applies.
Costs quoted separately and agreed in advance include server hardware and managed hosting services, data take-on, third-party API configuration, training delivery, optional source code escrow, and any complementary systems or additional modules you select. You will see all of it before you sign anything.
No — never. Our pricing is a straightforward monthly subscription. We do not charge a percentage of interest earned, premiums written, transactions processed or collections recovered. If our system helps you double your book, your subscription does not double. We think revenue-share pricing quietly penalises the clients who succeed most with the software.
Yes. We operate an open API policy and have live integrations with core banking systems, national pay-point and payroll deduction registries, credit bureaux, accounting packages, payment and mobile money gateways, central securities depositories, automated trading systems, and Active Directory or LDAP for identity.
Where a third party exposes an integration channel we consume it. Where one does not exist yet, we build the interface — that work is scoped and quoted transparently before it starts.
Your choice. We offer cloud-native hosting managed by FinDev, or full on-premise deployment inside your own data centre under your own controls and your own data residency requirements. Both options support load balancing, failover and real-time database replication. The data is yours in either case.
Through software escrow, which we offer as an option on every engagement. Source code is lodged with an independent escrow agent and released to you on defined trigger events, so your operations are never dependent on our continued existence. Regulated clients typically require it; it is quoted as a separate line item so you can see exactly what it costs.
Our systems run in production inside regulated banks, which means they are audited and tested continuously by parties other than us. Concretely: encrypted databases, secure communication channels, comprehensive third-party penetration testing, multi-factor authentication, LDAP and Active Directory integration, granular role-based access control, maker–checker authorisation, and full immutable audit logs on every transaction and modification.
Yes. Financial services is where our deepest domain knowledge sits, but the underlying platform — workflow, accounting, documents, notifications, reporting, access control and integration — is sector-agnostic. We have delivered systems for agriculture, education, FMCG and retail, health, and tourism and event management. If your process is complex, high-volume, document-heavy or compliance-bound, it is the kind of problem our modules were built for.
Our standard implementation runs from agreement to production inside roughly four months, with customisation typically complete in 7–14 days and user acceptance testing and deployment across 30–45 days. Phases often run concurrently and straightforward systems land considerably sooner. We will give you a realistic phased plan after requirements gathering — not before.
Describe your business requirement in as much detail as you like. We will come back to you quickly with a considered view of how we would solve it, what it would involve, and what it would cost to run.
